Whirlpool
Now a quickie in a whirlpool is an interesting situation. I have a friend named Mike who restricts all of his sexual encounters in the whirlpool. Mike is one of those guys I talked about at the top of this essay. He wants to save a full sexual encounter for someone he truly cares about. He does not want to give himself totally to a complete stranger. I do not think Mike really cares if he gets off or not at the baths. He is one of those guys who goes to the baths for relaxation, so he spends almost all of his time in the whirlpool. If a cute guy dips into the whirlpool, that Mike fancies, he will make his move. First he positions himself, so he is opposite or near the guy. Then he starts to "accidentally" brush his leg against the other guy's leg. If the guy does not respond after a few "accidents" or even moves away, then Mike knows he is not interested. But if the guy returns the "accidental brush", then Mike starts to reel him in. Mike will then take his foot, and starts playing footsies, eventually getting his foot to massage the other guy's genitals. Then the other guy will return the favor. Eventually the two guys will get together, feeling each other up (no kissing) with some oral and simulating anal - all in a 15-minute encounter in the whirlpool. All this time, either there are people in the whirlpool watching, or people passing by, looking in and then walking away. After finishing (where neither man has even ejaculated) the guy will get out of the whirlpool and walk away. Mike usually stays in the whirlpool, and continues to relax and enjoy the waves, satisfied for the time being.
Shower Area
The shower area is a very popular place where quickie sex can occur. Guys will meet up in the shower area, the same way I described in the sauna/steam room. Two guys will be showering, and let us say one of the guys finds the other guy hot. The first guy will start soaping up his dick to full erection. The other guy will either walk away (no interest) or reach out to feel his dick. Some just bypass the soaping of their own dick, and just reach out and touch the other guy's dick. Either the other guy will reach out and return the favor, or he will just say, "No thanks". If there is interest on both sides, caressing, soaping each other, sliding their wet soapy bodies together, sucking, and oral will follow. All the while two showers are on full-blast, with steaming hot water falling on both men. Some couples meet in the wet area, get it on, and want to spend more time together. Uncomfortable with all of the eyes staring at them, the couple leaves to find a more private place. Unfortunately if neither man has a room, they have one of three choices. First, one of the guys can either upgrade their locker to a room. Second, they can both get dressed and ask "Your place or mine?" Third, they can find a more discreet place in the bathhouse, usually the porn lounge or the orgy room. Both of those rooms are where the most quickies usually take place.
Porn Lounge
The porn lounge is sort of like the sauna/steam room. It is the one room where I have seen the wildest action ever taking place. The major difference between the sauna/steam room and the porn lounge is that you can see images of naked men getting f***ked on-screen, while seeing men sitting in the porn lounge, stroking themselves to ejaculation while they watch. The porn lounge is the one area of the baths that elicits the most quickie sex. Just as I had mentioned in sauna/steam room, if two guys find each other hot, and are stroking themselves to full hard-ons, they will just go for it. If a couple is looking to have a quickie, (and neither man has a room) they usually wind up there to. Sucking, giving and receiving head, rimming, and dicks full and highly erect, all in front of an audience. Sometimes if a couple is uncomfortable with so many people watching them, they either put a chair in front of them (as if that helps) or they leave to find a dark corner in a hallway, or they find an empty stall in the bathroom. Over the years I have seen my share of rimming, oral, threesomes and foursomes in the porn lounge. One time I walked into the porn lounge and to my amazement, two guys where F***cking each other, BAREBACK! The positions they had were; guy A was sitting and guy B was sitting on him, pumping up and down. They chit chatted for a bit, with guy A saying he could go for hours without ejaculating. Guy B thanked him and went on his merry way. SCARY and CRAZY.
Orgy Room
Last place you can get quickie sex in a bathhouse is the orgy room (or dark room). These rooms can feature everything from open booths (think like a telephone booth, so men can have sex standing up while maintaining some privacy), multiple Glory Holes for group play and other dark spaces (or pitch-dark places) with some benches (in case two guys want to do anal, hopefully safely).
Recently there was an episode of "Queer as Folk", which showed off an orgy room inside a Bathhouse. The scenes showed dozens and dozens of men all having sex with one another, oblivious to who is watching. That scene is pure fiction. In the ten years that I have gone to the baths, I have never seen multiple orgies taking place. I might have seen a foursome once or twice, but that was it. The reasons I say it is fiction is that orgies are suppose to be unbridled passion where you throw caution to the wind and just go for it, no matter what the other person looks like.
In theory that is what an orgy should be. However, gay men have preferences. For an orgy to work, you have to be attracted to everybody in the group. And that doesn't happen. One person is attracted to only certain people, and another is only attracted to this person, etc. Soon instead of a big 20-person orgy, you have different groups here and there going at it. You may hop from group to group, but it is never a big 20-person group. That is because all 20 people have to be attracted to all 20 people. And unless it is preplanned, that is not possible to have a 20-person orgy by happenstance.
When that episode hit the airwaves, I received dozens of requests (via my Guest book) from men asking me to recommend a bathhouse in their city.
Truth of the matter is that when two men are getting it on, they generally do not like to have other people watch. Unfortunately if neither of you have a room for privacy, the orgy room is the only place to go to get some privacy. And although this wasn't the original intension of an orgy room, that room now seems to be used for guys, who don't have a private room, to hook up. When you walk into the room, you are hit by pitch-blackness. You can hardly make out what other guys are doing. So you have to wait for your eyes to adjust to the darkness. Once your eyes do adjust all you do see are shadows and bodies moving. Which gives the couple a bit of privacy. You may try to join in, but you’ll be pushed away rather forcefully. So you stand there and watch others get in on, but in darkness.
But it should be said there are some couple that love to get it on openly in the orgy room. Either screwing on a bench or in slings, happy to have crowds of guys watch. And perhaps have someone join in. These are the guys who like to be voyeurs.
So with so many men available in a bathhouse for 15 minutes "quickies", you have to ask yourself, "Where are the men that cuddle?" Just between you and I, this is my favorite form of sex. Well, wait for my next story, when I prove the saying, Real Men Cuddle.
